Digital Services Act
What is the Digital Services Act?
The EU's Digital Services Act proposal (DSA), together with its sister Digital Markets Act (DMA), represents a sweeping new approach to regulating big tech firms. The Act tackles harmful content, online harassment, targeted advertising, and illegal trade. It defines responsibilities for online platforms such as social media and marketplaces. For instance, it includes a “notice and action” mechanism for the takedown of illegal content, products and services.
