Fair Use
What is fair use?
Fair use is a legal doctrine under US copyright law that permits limited use of copyrighted material without acquiring permission from the rights holders. It considers four factors: purpose and character of the use, nature of the copyrighted work, amount and substantiality of the portion used, and impact on the market or value of the copyrighted work. The more transformative a use is, the less significant other factors become.
