What is passwordless technology?

Passwordless login allows users to sign into digital applications without entering a text-based password – which is among the most insecure methods of authentication. Passwordless technologies include authenticator apps, biometric authentication (e.g. Face ID, Touch ID), a physical security key, a code sent via mobile notification, SMS or email, or other form of multi-factor authentication.
