What are brain-machine interfaces?
Brain-machine interfaces (BMI) or brain-computer interfaces (BCI) are devices that turn brain signals into actions and other outputs. They have implications for treating patients with paralysis, Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, depression, and hypertension, among other conditions. They also have potential applications for human augmentation and performance enhancement.
